Encouragement      鼓勵篇

Dear Colleagues,

It would have been perfect if our team had won the Champion.
But we all know that life is seldom (if ever) perfect. What you all
have been able to achieve is definitely excellent and most worthy of our
congratulations.

I join Mee Lee and Frank in sending heartfelt congratulations to
you all. I'm sure it is possible for the team to do even better in the
next season, which is coming pretty soon, as long as we can (as Mee Lee
has put it) keep up the BU spirit, and equally importantly, you all
continue to derive great enjoyment through playing in the team.

May I join Prof. Fu in offering you all my sincere congratulations for the spectacular achievements of the team so far.

I am sure that, with a bit of luck, and considering that your final opponent is under anxiety for losing their identity (if they are merged!) more achievements of the team will be coming.

Good luck to you all!  Enjoy your playing !

Cheers,

Dr. M. H. Mok

Messages  from  honorable team  managers 2002

Dear KC and all soccer team members :

Congratulations to you and all members of your team for another victory. I'm sure the team will have many more good news to report in the matches to come. Keep the good things coming!

Sorry to learn that our soccer team was not able to win in the final match.  If memory serves, this is the 2nd time, in the history of this inter-university staff soccer tournament, that we were beaten by Poly U and had to be only Number Two. I'm sure you are right that our loss (by only one goal was due more to luck being on  the side of the Poly U team, rather than anything else.  Perhaps there's another reason -- that I did not come to see you play!  So maybe it was my fault (laughs!).

In any case, in keeping with the Olympic spirit, playing to the best of one's ability is more important than winning.  Furthermore, I'm sure you have all enjoyed the fun of playing.

So, may I give each and every one of you a pat on your back!

Regards,

Dr. M H Mok
